• आप किसी पार्टी में गए है और खाना बहुत ही स्वादिष्ट है और आप खाते ही जा रहे | आप घर पर जो भोजन 15 मिनट में कर लेते थे, उसे उस पार्टी में 25 मिनट में भी नही कर पाए|
• आपको monthly checkup के लिए doctor के पास जाना है लेकिन आप कहीं दूर है और आपका checkup नही हो सकता है|

सच कहे तो ऐसा लगभग सभी के साथ होता है, लेकिन ऐसी परिस्तिथियों में आपको क्या करना है, किस प्रकार के quick action की आवश्यकता है, ये नही पता होता और यदि पता होता भी है तो आप कुछ कर नही पाते है क्योंकि दिन के 24 घंटे आपके साथ आपका doctor या nurse नही रह सकते है |

जब कोई patient hospital से discharge होता है तो उसे कुछ दिनों तक regular healthcare की need होती है जैसे Continuous Glucose Monitoring, Blood pressure Monitoring etc

Remote Intervention:

आज medical field में affordable surgical robots की जबरदस्त demmand है, ये वो digital surgical doctors है जो कठिन से कठिन operation बहुत ही सरलता से करते है| अभी जो surgical robots मिल रहे है वो बहुत ही महंगे है लेकिन बहुत सारी companies , surgical robots के development से जुड़ी है जैसे जापानी company Riverfield™ भी  low-priced surgical robot बना रही है|

Smart pills :

smart pills , IoMT का एक बहुत ही अच्छा उदाहरण है जिसमे आप जो medicine pills यानि दवा की गोली लेते है उसमे ही ऐसे sensors होते है जोकि दवा के पेट में जाकर घुलजाने पर activated हो जाते है और उसके बाद अपने consume होने की information, patient के हाथ पर बंधे wearable patch को देते है और फिर ये wearable patch इस inforation को हमारे smartphone में installed app को भेज देते है |

जैसे:- Abilify MyCite दवा की गोली एक smart pill है |

Fitness wearables:

2014 में, Google life sciences (जिसे आज Verily Life Sciences के नाम से भी जानते है) ने ये  घोषणा की कि यह एक smart contact lenses स्मार्ट कॉन्टेक्ट लेंस विकसित करेगा जो हमारी आँखों के गीलेपन( या आंसू) से हमारे शरीर के glucose level को measure करेगा जिससे मधुमेह रोगियों को शरीर में glucose level कम होने या ज्यादा होने पर चेतावनी दी जा सके | इसीप्रकार

2017 में Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. और Cognition Kit Limited, ने Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) के लिए एक दूसरे के साथ वर्ष Apple Watch app (एक प्रकार की हाथ घडी ) पर एक experimental project शुरू किया जिससे patient की मानसिक स्थिति की *real time पर monitoring और assessing की जा सके और जिन patients पर Apple Watch app  का प्रयोग किया उन्होंने कहा की Apple Watch app जो record किया है,recording के समय हमारा वैसा ही मूड था |

Clinical monitors : 

इनमे अनेक प्रकार की IoMT को use किया जाता है| जैसे smart beds, smart rooms, scanners, remote medical care, asset management इतियादी | ये सभी bluetooth, wifi से एक दूसरे से जुड़े रह कर patient की clinical monitoring करते है |

IoMT में patient के health conditions को EHR यानि ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD के रूप में save कर लेते है जैसे digital stethoscopes जोकि heart sounds को mobile app पर भेजता है साथ ही future में इस data को use करने के लिए इसे save भी कर लेता है |

Hospital Devices :

hospital के भीतर सभी digital devices जैसे ECG या MRI machine IoMT ही है यदि इनके data को save किया जा सकता है , दूसरे digital devices के साथ share किया जा सकता है और remotely control और monitor किया जा सकता है |

• इसका सबसे बड़ा लाभ हमारे परिवार के उन बड़ी आयु के लोगों को मिलेगा जो आयु अधिक होने के कारण hospital / clinic बार बार जाना पसंद नही करते है| IoMT से उन्हें घर बैठे ही healthcare मिल जाएगी | यानि doctor या nurse, digitally 24X7 hours उपलब्ध होंगे|
• ECG heart rate, blood sugar level, body temperature, respiration और हमारी activity level की continuous monitoring हो सकेगी|
• हमें जब आवश्यकता होगी तब अपना health checkup कर सकेंगे और ये checkup ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD यानि EHR के रूप में save हो जायेगा और आवश्यकता पड़ने पर हमारे medication/ treatment और medical researches में ये record काम आ सकेगा |
• हमारी health conditions समय पर पता चल जाएगी जिससे हम आने वाले खतरों से सचेत हो जायेंगे | यदि हम over exercise या over eating करते है तो ये हमे warn करेंगी |
• हमारे hospitals/ clinic / doctors हमारी health condition को smartphone के द्वारा access कर सकते है|

इसमें हमारी body पर लगे smart glucose meter, heart rate meter, smartphone को data देते है और इस data को smartphone ,internet के द्वारा doctors / health professional तक पहुंचा देते है | जिससे वो हमे track कर सकते है और हमारा treatment, decide कर सकते है|

Disadvantages of IoMT

• हमारी health condition को hackers के द्वारा leakout हो सकती क्योंकि IoMT,internet based होता है | जिसे hackers से data leakout का हमेशा ही खतरा रहता है|
• अलग अलग companies की medical devices में compatibility problem हो सकती है
• IoMT में doctors / nurses / healthcare professional को proper training देनी होगी जिससे वो इन devices को properly operate कर सके, इनके data को use कर सके |
